Profile photo for Murray H. Miskin Murray H. Miskin graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1979 and has been a member of the Ontario Bar since 1981. His flat rate services are available across Ontario and he works on a contingency fee for injury cases locally and across Canada. He has over 30 years of experience in civil litigation and now spends much of his time doing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mainly arbitration and mediation. He also has trained most non-labour arbitrators in Ontario since 1985. He continues to teach the primary arbitration course in Ontario. He strongly believes clients should pay for the job and not for whatever time it takes for a lawyer to do it. He believes in high quality legal work affordable to everybody. He believes in taking the mystery out of legal work and having his clients understand the process and how it works. Murray handles asbestos compensation claims for Mesothelioma and other related diseases nationally on a contingency fee basis. Murray Miskin began his legal career in 1979 working with personal injury firms in Toronto and moved to Whitby in 1985 and then expanded into Peterborough over a decade ago. From 1973 to 1976 Murray lived in Peterborough and attended Trent University where he was a member of the University Senate Executive and President of the Trent Student Union. He continues to have links with Trent University having served three years on the Board of Governors and on several committees. Murray stopped having Whitby as his main office in late 2012 and moved full-time from Peterborough to Kawartha cottage country at Stoney Lake. Murray continues to see Durham Region clients from his former downtown Whitby law office but his main office is in Peterborough's East City. The Miskin Law Office offers a free consultation on cases where the cost of necessary services are discussed so that a potential client can reasonably make a decision on what to do. Murray Miskin is well known nationally for his work with the Canadian Bar Association. He was Chair of both the Ontario and the National Insurance Law Section Executive. He has served for two years on CBA's national Board of Directors and Finance Committee in his capacity as Chair of CBA's National Sections Council. CBA's National Sections Council represents all areas of legal practice. He is now an Executive Member of the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Section for CBA and has been involved as a Program Chair in planning of American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Conferences.
